Step 1: Become a BuyFromAChristian.com User! (And be able to BUY items on the site)
- Enter www.BuyFromAChristian.com in your web browser.
- Click on “Sign In” to the right of the search bar.
- Click the “Sign up now” button at the bottom of the middle column titled “Not yet a member.”
- Create a username, enter a chosen password, submit your email address, and click on the box stating you agree with the Terms of Service.
- Click “Submit.”
- Then just click on “Login to your account.”
- You now have a BuyFromAChristian.com account and are able to BUY items on the site!
- Remember your username and password so you can use them in the future!
Step 2: To Sell An Item on BuyFromAChristian.com! (The following instructions apply to sales you might make as an individual as well as to sales you make to benefit a garage sale.)
- Sign in to your account (see step 1).
- Click “Sell” on the menu bar at the top of the page.
- Fill out the seller account information, payment information, click the check-box agreeing to the seller’s terms of use, and click “Submit” (Note! If you wonder why we ask for your credit card information in a garage sale when listings are FREE, or if you would like to review our fee structure page, CLICK HERE for more information!)
- Now click on “List an item to sell.”
- Scroll down and click “click here to change your organization” (This information can be accessed at ANY TIME by clicking on the iBFAC link and clicking on "Account Info"- see below for more information on the iBFAC link...)
- Designate the church or Christian organization you would like to receive 10% of the sales and listing fees you pay to BuyFromAChristian.com; you can choose from our growing list of churches and Christian organizations OR you can add you own!
- Once you are done, this sets your chosen church or Christian organization to receive 10% of your fees paid to BuyFromAChristian.com.
- But in a garage sale, there are NO FEES! So listing an item in a garage sale allows you to give 100% of the selling price to the organization sponsoring the garage sale.
**Technically, you would not have to complete this step in a garage sale, as again, we collect no fees on sold garage sale items so that you can give 100% to the sponsoring church or organization!
- You are now ready to sell items on the site!
Step 3: To List/Donate an Item in a Garage Sale!
- Once you are signed into your account (step 1) and after you have signed up to be a seller, you are ready to list!
- Click on the “iBFAC” link on the top right of the homepage! (you will see this next to your username: Hello, [username]! (Sign Out) | iBFAC)
- On the left side of the screen, you will see a section titled “Garage Sales…” and below this you will see “I’m Hosting” and “I’m invited to”—click on “I’m invited to.”
- You will see a list of the garage sales you have been invited to join AND you have accepted an initiation to join by entering in an invite code (which is provided by the sponsor of the garage sale).
- If you have not yet accepted an invitation into a garage sale, just click on the “Have an invite code” link at the top of the page and enter your code! Now the garage sale will become part of your list!
- Once you have accepted an invitation, and clicked on “I’m invited to” simply click on “List an item” next to your chosen sale!
- Now just follow the easy 5 step process of listing an item!
- **BE SURE TO NOTE** in Step 1 of Product Listings, you must choose your chosen garage sale in the bottom were it says “Garage Sale” (the default is --No Garage Sale--) so your listing WILL BE FREE, and your product will be a part of your garage sale’s listings! If you leave out this step, your product will be listed in no garage sale and will simply be placed on the site as a regular listing and you will be charged a $0.25 listing fee. SO DO NOT MISS THIS IMPORTANT STEP!
- To list multiple items, you can either repeat the above steps, or just click on “Add a new listing” under the “Products” tab on the left side of the iBFAC page. Just remember to designate your garage sale on each listing from the drop-down menu on the first step of the Product Listing process (as explained in detail above).
- The whole process is SIMPLE and takes just a few minutes to set up!
- Once you are set up, you can add products through the iBFAC page at any time!
- And, you are on your way to helping your church or Christian organization raise money!
