Where it all Began!

February 15, 2007, www.buyfromachristian.com went live for the first time on a computer server in Dallas, TX. The very first version of the website was designed by Jeff Boyd in Washington back on October 26, 2006. The design originally came from a sketch made on a yellow legal pad in 1996 by Brad McMullan.

The very first user account on the website was created by co-founder Dr. Philip Chustz. The very first product sold on www.buyfromachristian.com was a $220.00 MiniDV video camera in Madison, Mississippi on February 20, 2007. The company only had a few hundred visitors in the first month, but everything changed when the Christ-centered e-commerce website was featured by The Clarion Ledger (Mississippi's largest newspaper) in April 2007. By the end of 2007, the website would visitors in 40 different states and more than 25 countries. The company, while growing, still had no full time employees after its first year. The entire company was built by the grace of God and a dozen volunteers over a five month time period. None of the programmers, designers, attorneys, accountants, or media consultants were paid a single dollar in building the website. They all worked together to build a company that would glorify God for years and years to come.

Today, four years later, BuyFromAChristian is the number one Christian e-commerce website in the world with visitors from all 50 states and more than 135 countries. The website has been featured on TV, Radio, and in newspapers and

magazines across the country. The original buy and sell Christ-centered website now features autos, real estate, a business directory, travel, event tickets, gift cards, and online garage sales. The parent company of BuyFromAChristian has also expanded, from just one website, to more than 100 different domains and websites. The company, which has employees or contractors in 7 states, is now planning to launch a new bible text messaging website and a business text messaging service soon.

The company's two founders are still very much involved with the day to day operations of BuyFromAChristian.com. Brad McMullan is currently the president and chairman of the board of directors for the website's parent company, bfac, LLC. While Dr. Philip Chustz, serves on the board of directors. Four years ago the founders celebrated the launch of the website with a prayer of hope. McMullan and Dr. Chustz hoped God would use BuyFromAChristian to grow churches and change lives. Now four years later, more than 10 thousand people have read verse by verse how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and every day people from all over the world are reading a bible verse or a devotion on our site.

Sadly, not all of our friends are still with us to celebrate in person. Steve Chustz worked countless hours making sure BuyFromAChristian would stand the test of time. In the begining, he did all of our legal work (for free) and gave our team tons of advice. His footprint remains on this company to this very day. Bob Axtell is another friend who is celebrating our four year anniversary in heaven. He worked hard to get our very first TV ad on the air and he often prayed for our company.

God has blessed BuyFromAChristian so much over the last four years! Too often, Christians keep their personal relationship with Jesus private. God wants to have a personal relationship with all of us, but He doesn't want us to keep it private. Rather, He calls us to the Great Commission, to share the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

A SOUPer Turnout at Salvation Army SOUPer Bowl Extravaganza

For 14 years in a row the Salvation Army in Jackson hosted the pre game Super Bowl party. It's called the SOUPer Bowl! We were happy to be one of the sponsors of the event. The Salvation Army gathered more than two dozen local restaurants for the soup cook-off!

Celebrity guests also attended the event like BFAC.com President Brad McMullan. That's him in the picture below with VP of Communications Heather Sophia.

SOUPer Bowl!

Can you believe the Super Bowl is almost here? It seems like yesterday that the Saints were just celebrating their very first win at the Super Bowl. On February 6, the Steelers will face the Packers. Super Bowl XLV will kick off at 6:30 ET (5:30 CT) on Fox. They will compete for the NFL Championship at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas-Fort Worth.

While the two best football teams in the NFL come to a head, restaurants in Jackson will be competing in the 14th Annual SOUPer Bowl for the "Best Soup of Jackson trophy." Proceeds will help feed thousands of people in the metro area through the social service programs of The Salvation Army, Jackson Corp. The SOUPer Bowl begins at 11:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00pm. There will be a silent auction with items on hand such as signed football from the Gator Bowl Championship Coach Dan Mullen from Mississippi State!

The Salvation Army is teaming up with BuyFromAChristian.com to raise money to help the victims of the April 24th tornado. At least 10 people died in Mississippi and dozens more were hurt.
